Principal's message

We welcome you to celebrate the achievements of our students through this snapshot selection of activities that happened over the past 2 months.

For students to achieve their potential, attendance at all lessons is essential. Every lesson counts. A consistent approach to study with regular review facilitates success. A balance between work, rest and play, quality sleep and a heathy diet is also essential.

As we move towards the business end of the school year it is great to see students applying newly developed skills and knowledge. Some of our more practical subjects allow students to clearly demonstrate their achievements through the design and creation of products and events. Every year these creations surpass expectations in originality, creativity and execution.

In some subjects it is not as easy to witness student skills and development. If you have the opportunity please make the time to talk with students and listen to their descriptions of what they have learnt and how they might apply new learnings. Student understanding of science and maths or current world political events, drivers of the economy, creative writing or research assignments are all worthwhile listening to. Through the articulation of their learning students will practice the required vocabulary and check their own understandings as they develop explanations. We are social beings and describing new learnings can be a very effective learning process.

Please ask questions and listen to answers. Prepare to be amazed.
