UNICEF - Coronavirus - "Living in Limbo"
UNICEF Report ‘Living in Limbo’
On May 7th, ex-student Mason Wright visited the Legal Studies 3 class, this time through Zoom, for the second time in his role as Youth Ambassador for UNICEF. On this occasion, it was to seek input for UNICEF on how things have changed in the lives of students since his previous visit in February and the onset of the COVID-19 restrictions. The report, which collates the views of young people from across the country quotes several of the Don College Legal Studies students and, in fact, the title of the report are the words of Izabel Murray. Within the report, any references to regional Tasmania student are those of our Legal students. Others who took part in the discussion and may have been quoted are Caleb Armstrong, Oscar Clark, Shaynelle Armstrong, Georgia Cleaver, Kamilla Fyle, Dustin Geard, Asha Lamprey, Zara Maddigan, Monique Steers, Aspen Auton and Anthony Plapp. The conversation allowed the students a valuable chance to debrief on the major issues they face now and into the future as a result of the pandemic that emerged so suddenly. The report is well worth a read by students to understand that their feelings are similar to others across the nation and by parents, to understand what their children are expressing as concerns, as well as some positives that have emerged.
